Hey family!
We hope you are all doing well! It was so good to see everyone while we were in Utah...the kids especially loved spending time with cousins and friends.
Just a quick update on what's been going on here. We spent New Years in St George with Wendy and her family, then headed to Santa Clarita in Southern California to spend a day in Six Flags Magic Mountain. It was definitely busier than when we went last year, but we had a good time. Shane was feeling under the weather, so he took Calder around to the kid rides while I went on the big rides with Adria. Rella bounced between the two options, but still prefers the kids rides to the big roller coasters. Adria really missed having Daddy for the big roller coasters...I'm not nearly as adventurous as Shane!
We arrived home on Friday the 5th. Shane had one day of rest, then immediately packed up again for a work trip to NYC. He flew out on Sunday morning and came home on Wednesday night. He had meetings at Shutterstock and visits with a few clients. It was actually a pretty short trip for New York.
Meanwhile, everyone else was sick. Calder, Rella, and I all came down with the flu (I was only down for one day, thankfully). Adria had a cold. We were all pretty miserable. Adria went back to school on Tuesday. Rella returned on Thursday. Calder hasn't gone back yet due to ear infections. After a long visit at the Urgent Care yesterday, we got him all sorted out. He'll be back to school this coming Tuesday.
Rella gave a talk in church today. Since we have so few YW, the bishopric has started asking some of the 10 and 11 year old girls to be youth speakers. She did a great job and wasn't even nervous. There was a very big crowd for a mission farewell today.
We missed the earthquake last week, but many of our friends and ward members felt it.
That's about it! We're ready for some normalcy this week!
Love you all!
Shane, Alicia, Adria, Rella, & Calder
