Westra Family and Friends

Aaron is going to go back on his mission for about seven months! He could get a call as soon as next week and he could leave as soon as next month. So that is exciting. He came and went to church with me and Kim yesterday and stayed for dinner. We had our first Thanksgiving Dinner with Polly, Aaron, Conner, and Amber. We are having small ones with each family.

Tuesday Corin and I went over and finished landscaping at Shane’s next door neighbor’s house. I took a couple pics of the end result, below. Then Thursday we went and worked at Grandma and Grandpa’s house. The weather was a bit chilly but still nice. Camden and Cayson were off for Fall Break Thursday and Friday and Camden came here for a couple days. Then they headed out Friday to go to Goblin Valley with their Mom and Wayne.

Saturday we played with Integrity for a few hours. We played Ring around the Rosies many many times, and included her dolly in the ring, which she thought was fun and funny. We had a baptism that morning and I am the Ward Mission Leader and the font would not fill properly. Only a trickle would come out, and it wasn’t hot. It turns out the hot water heater was broken and on order, but the right people were not notified. So we had a late, cold baptism - the family had a great attitude. The sisters were heating water on the church kitchen stove and carrying pans and dumping them into the font.

So I only had about an hour with Integrity. We just played - I didn’t bother to take any pictures. Kim made her a grilled cheese sandwich.

Integrity: I like the way my Mom makes them better.
Kim: Well, I taught your Mommy how to make them.
Integrity: Are you sure?

The funny part was, she didn’t even take one bite, so she was judging only on looks. She said later that it was because Grandma “Smashed the bread” but we don’t know where she got that idea. We took Seth, Courtney, and Integrity out to dinner Saturday eve to Wallaby’s for Courtney’s birthday.

Another conversation with Integrity.

Me: Will you help me mow the lawn? Are you big enough?
Integrity: slowly, word by word, “Not. Quite Yet.”

This year we have 55 peach trees, 10 apricot trees, and 2 walnut trees. Grandma pointed out they have a walnut tree growing in their yard, probably in the soil from a plant I took them.

Here is the site I’m building for Trudy Peck’s work in Africa. Check it out and help if you can.

We will be going this weekend on a little trip to Roosevelt (Where Trudy and Gordon live now) and to Vernal. We will stay at an Airbnb in Vernal with Camden and Cayson. Conner and Amber will stay with Trudy and Gordon.

Below is Prosperity Poem 95 - Adventure.

Kadan got a couple of my books on Amazon (Kindle) - and we will share any profits. He wanted to learn how to get a book on there. I've been scanning a lot - there are four pics of my Dad in 1942 when he was five years old.

Cayson went with me to get a few rocks and to scout out some large ones to get with Conner later. Cayson was having fun rock balancing.

Have a super week!
Christopher and Kim
