Shane&Alicia ... and Adria Update (June 2019)

Hello all! It's Adria writing this week. This last week I went to EFY in Provo, which was really fun and I enjoyed it a lot. On Monday it was a lot of settling in, and it was fun to meet the group of 20 kids I was in. I was roommates with my friend from UT, Lilly, so that was fun. We stayed in Heritage Halls, for all those familiar with BYU campus and so I was able to experience a little bit of college life. Not luxury or anything, but I enjoyed it. Tuesday we had some meetings and bonding, some classes that were really neat, and a dance in the evening. Wednesday was very similar to Tuesday, just there was a game night instead of a dance. Thursday was one of my favorite days as it was the most spiritual. Everyone wears their Sunday outfits and we go to a series of lessons and testimony meetings. During that we had a variety show, which was fun. There was also a musical program that sounded really great. The spirit was so strong at most of the activities, and what was more amazing is that all the people there felt it and everyone was able to strengthen their testimonies a lot. On Friday we had some more activities and a lot of lessons on spreading the gospel and taking what we learned home. We had another dance then left after some sad goodbyes on Saturday morning. I made a ton of new friends from my group and even though it was five days I felt like I grew a lot. Besides Efy,

Reno on the Lindon house has started in full swing, and we have knocked down a closet and had some painters come. A neighbor's relative came and ripped out the baseboards for us, too, but there is still a lot of work to be done everywhere else. I flew to UT on Sunday evening with my dad, did some work and then left for EFY on Monday, so I just heard about the progress done until I saw it on Saturday. After hearing some noises in the night, my dad has decided there is some animal, possibly a raccoon living in our attic, but we're not sure yet.

Over in CA summer has been going well. Mom and the two younger kids went to the San Francisco Zoo on Thursday, and it sounded like they had a good time. Me and Dad flew back on Saturday afternoon, but because he had booked his flight as a triple round trip and I was just a round trip we needed to rearrange seating. My dad had gotten upgraded to first class, but he was trying to get downgraded so we could sit together. There was a long process, but we ended up sitting together in first class, which was super nice and a total surprise!

Today we went to church, where my mom and some other women from the ward sang a very nice musical number in sacrament meeting. After church, we had a potluck with some friends as a sort of farewell party before we move. It was lots of fun, but kind of bittersweet too as we said goodbye to people. This next week Rella and I are going to girls camp in the Santa Cruz mountains from Tuesday to Saturday, so we are pretty excited for that. The week after that, I have a youth conference in UT and then a trip to the East Coast so I only have 3 more nights in this house. I'll miss most of the moving process too, but I won't complain :) Have a great week and see all of you guys soon in Utah!
