February 2022 ~ Chris & Kim

(February 7, 2022)

Tuesday evening we took Seth, Courtney, and Integrity out to dinner at Kneaders. It was a good central location as we were driving there in four separate cars, coming from work and such. It was nice to catch up on Courtney and Seth’s plans - or possible plans, as he is interviewing for a summer internship.

Then Thursday I went to work at Mom and Dad’s house and then Kim drove in after work and met us at Red Lobster. This was our 721st date. We had missed going out with them in January due to their getting Covid.

Friday to Saturday Cayson went on an overnighter with the young men to a cabin up in the mountains. They had a good large group and he had a great time. Kim and I went to see Integrity play basketball in the morning on Saturday. In soccer, she is the star of the show, but not so much with basketball. She is the smallest player, and doesn’t seem too sure of the objective of the game. But it was fun to watch her anyway!

After the game, Kim and Courtney went and did pedicures together. On Wednesday Kim had to drive all the way to Richfield to work at the Revere Clinic there. She hopes she doesn’t have to do that again - it’s over two hours one way.

Enjoy a fabulous week! I've been keeping very busy with my business and my rock work and investing.

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! It’s been a busy week. We had Integrity for a sleepover Friday night and that was fun. She helped Kim make bread and we played and read books. Kim slept in the living room with her, on our big Coddle couch that folds into a bed.

On Saturday we played cars and had breakfast. Kim took Integrity to her basketball game and Courtney and Seth met her there.

Thursday I went to Mom and Dad’s house to work. I’ve been working on my business and the rock wall and preparing more gardens for the spring. Kim made some bone broth over the weekend and then canned it. It’s so good..! She is really enjoying the canner and coming up with something new each weekend.

We received a new calling for our ward. Kim and I are on the activities committee, and we will help plan ward parties and get togethers. That’s a good calling for us right now.

We tried EverBowl, a new healthy eatery, but it had a quite limited selection. So I got something from EverBowl, and then we went next door to Kokonut, and I just brought my EverBowl. It was OK, but I won’t go back.

Happy Birthday to Danielle yesterday! And to Callahan today!

Kim and I had three dates this week. Monday was Valentine’s day and we went out to Kneaders. Tuesday we met Seth and Aspen at their house in the evening and then took them to Cafe Rio. And Saturday evening we went out with Mom and Dad to Black Bear Diner in Sandy. Cayson went with us on Saturday. Saturday was our date number 725.

Wednesday evening Cayson was able to go to the Jordan River Temple with his Mom’s ward. So I took him in the early evening and dropped him off. They went out to Astro Burger beforehand as a youth group - and then to the temple.

On Sunday Aaron spoke in a different ward and Kim went to support him. She said he did a great job. Their church was the same time as ours, and I would have gone with her but Cayson was blessing the sacrament for the first time in our ward and they have a tradition that the priest’s Dad helps with the sacrament when they bless it for the first time. So we did it together. Sunday afternoon Cayson and I did a lot of driving practice - and we were near Shane’s new house so we stopped by. See the pics below:

We were able to get Integrity on Saturday for a few hours. She worked with me outside the whole time, building the wall. She said, “I’m the rock girl” and she helped put the little rocks in the concrete. Two neighbor boys (Owen and Nathan) had given me some rocks to polish so we called them over and opened the polisher. They turned out really well..!

I had them bring some cool whip containers and all three of the kids made stepping stones also, which will harden and then we can peel off the container.

I asked Integrity to find a rock for a specific place, and she said, “I know a rock that is the most Beautifullest of all. It sparkles in the sun!” It was nice - but she ended up taking a liking to it and wanted to take it home.

When Courtney came to get her, Courtney and Kim were chatting and Integrity comes to me with a frown and says:

Integrity: I have to go and I don’t want to.
Christopher: I know. But when your Mom comes you need to go with her.
Integrity: But, how will you do this job without me?
Christopher: It will be harder for me, for sure.

Kim and Courtney and Integrity are doing a “girls trip” to Disneyland in March, and they are really excited.

(February 28, 2022)

Hi all. Kim and I had a nice trip down to St. George over the weekend. We left Friday morning about 10:00 and met Camden for lunch in Ephraim. We took him some food. He and Kim had lunch at the Mexican restaurant in town. Then we got back on the road and headed towards Wendy’s house in Ivins, a suburb of St. George.

We unpacked and then went to see Jaiden in her high school play “A Murder is Announced”. She did great and the play was funny. Saturday Kim and Wendy worked out together in the morning and I went rock hunting - finding some good hematite pieces (which polish well). Then Kim and I went hiking.

The first hike I had planned was Green Valley Gap, but there was a huge mountain biking event in our way and we couldn’t get to the trailhead. It was literally blocked by hundreds of people and mountain bikes. So we headed back through St. George and north to the Turtle Wall Trail. That was very nice - and Kim enjoyed it a lot also. There were some impressive mountain bikers on that trail as well (but not hundreds). We noticed that there were lots of older people on the trails. Over half of all the hikers and bikers looked older than we are! I’ve noticed that about Park City also - an abundance of older health conscious people.

Then I had a rest and Kim got a late lunch at Panda Express, and then we went hiking on the Tukupetsi trail down by the Santa Clara River. That trail was beautiful also! Sunday we went to church with them and then had lunch and headed home.

It was quite snowy here last week, and I sent Kim with the Pilot to work, as it is the only car that does well in the snow. The week was busy. Over 1200 people have read my Bitcoin Poems. One poem got the attention of the person who wrote The Bitcoin Standard, on twitter. I wrote on the bottom of the poem, “Inspired by Saifedean Ammous” and he thanked me and told me “Great Job” and retweeted the poem and background on his own Twitter, which brought it a lot of attention. That was fun.

I’m grateful the weather will warm up this week - so I can work on my rock work and tree pruning (my 50+ peach trees). Aaron and Cayson are having a weight loss challenge.

Enjoy a fabulous and creative week!
Christopher and Kim
