Lindon Westra Update: Easter Sunday, April 17 2022 

I hope everybody had a great Easter! Sorry Dad wasn't feeling well. 

Here is a quick summary update:

• Adria in France - Adria spent a little over a week in France with a school group. She had a wonderful time!
• Alicia went to Arizona - she had a mentoring session with an interior photographer down there and learned a lot.
• Rella went to Orlando - Rella went to Orlando with her school dance team. They performed at Disney World, and spent a lot of time at the amusement parks and doing other fun activities. We picked her up at the airport last night. 
• Shane (for work) went - Las Vegas, San Diego, Las Vegas again, North Carolina today (coming back Thursday late), and will be in Anaheim in early May, and maybe NYC in mid May. 
• Adria and Shane going to Europe - Adria and I are looking forward to our Europe trip from May 27 to June 11! We'll go to London, Paris, and northern Italy. 
• Rella's Dance Concert - Rella had her Dance Concert a few weeks ago (Mom and Dad came down to watch it and to have dinner). She did a great job! 
• Jeanine Marichal funeral - Our next door neighbors (up the hill) have had the wife's mother, Jeanine Marichal, living with them for the last 16 years. She was from Belgium, and didn't speak English at all. A while back Alicia felt inspired to have Adria ask to visit her and speak French...but instead of a one-time chat session, it turned into recurring French lessons for Adria and (less regularly) another neighbor girl. So it has been a great experience for Adria and Jeanine to get to know each other in that way. Even just a few days before Jeanine quickly declined and passed away, she was worrying that the weather in France wasn't good for Adria, and Jeanine arranged for her daughter to get chocolates for Adria for Easter. We attended the funeral yesterday, and it was an excellent service. 
• New house update - We're in sheetrock stage right now, and they should be pouring concrete floors on our part of the main level this week. Some of the exterior should start anytime as well. 
• Adria got Covid - Adria tested positive right after her France trip (luckily she wasn't positive before her flight home!). She was pretty tired and stuffy for a few days, but she's out of quarantine now and back to normal. 
• Bathroom remodel - There are a few things we wanted to fix up on our current house before Grandma and Grandpa rent it out (or sell it), and one of those things is to redo the upstairs bathroom. So I spent a lot of time on Saturday tearing out molding, beadboard, the toilet, and putting in some new sheetrock. 
• Calder's field trip to the State Capital - Calder's school class (and Alicia, as a chaperone) went to the State Capital. Calder was glad to ride with Alicia and not on the noisy bus!
• Calder finished Bouldering classes - Calder has been taking a Bouldering class (low height rock climbing without ropes), and has enjoyed it, but we're taking a little break from it. 
• Adria ACT - Adria took the ACT again, and did fantastically well. We're so proud of her hard work studying and preparing for it! 
• Adria got asked to Prom - Adria was asked to go to Prom with a guy that she doesn't know too well. She's excited to go, but hoping they will be in a friend group with some of her other friends that will be going rappelling as the day-date.
