Chris and Kim ~ April 2022

April 5, 2022~ General Conference - Helium Mining

We enjoyed listening to General Conference on Saturday and Sunday. We had Cayson and Aaron with us this weekend. I tried to get Camden to come hang out with us. Cayson listened to the Sunday sessions with his friend Indy’s family. Conner and Amber got back from their trip to Florida - he raised my Helium antenna and now I’ve got to get the hotspot synced again. I’ve earned $40 so far.

One of my favorite Conference talks is President Nelson's talk about Forgiveness and spiritual Momentum - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhcASugzEJ8

Saturday afternoon I listened to the conference session while up getting rocks at West Mountain. Kim had a barbecue with some work friends in the late afternoon and evening.

The rest of the Disneyland pics are below, and a couple others. I’ve been typing up a history of my Great Great Grandfather Walter Frederick Hurst, which is very interesting.

Kim is heading out on another “girls” trip with her Bunco friends. One of them moved to Las Vegas a few years ago so the rest are going down for a couple days - leaving Thursday evening.

Enjoy a spectacular week!

April 12, 2022 ~ Van Gogh, Vegas Trip, Bitcoin Video

Good morning all. Kim went to Las Vegas with her Bunco group from Thursday evening to Sunday evening. One of the ladies in the group moved to Vegas a few years ago and they stayed at her house. They went to a farmer’s market place on one day, and went to the Vincent Van Gogh exhibit there. One of the pics in Dropbox shows Kim writing a letter to Vincent. https://www.vangoghvegas.com/

Jocelyn, one of the ladies who went on the trip, had read Lust for Life, a book about Van Gogh and shared a lot with the others. That extra info helped them to appreciate the exhibit more, Kim said.

We got a load of compost dirt delivered to Shane and Alicia’s Lindon house and Cayson and I got it all moved to the backyard so Adria could have her parking place again.

It snowed here last night - and is unusually cold here for a couple of days.

There were lots of good presentations at the bitcoin conference. But this is one of the best at explaining how bitcoin has been used for freedom around the world. We who live in luxury in developed and fairly free countries have little real knowledge of what the rest of the world is going through under authoritarian regimes and hyper inflationary currencies. This is what First brought me into cryptocurrency and bitcoin. Not buying a Lambo with Dogecoin, but being able to help so many people in Third World and other countries with this new technology. If you wonder, “How can Bitcoin help people in undeveloped countries or oppressive regimes?”. If you really don’t know that, then please watch the video below titled “Bitcoin is Freedom” https://youtu.be/cR4sMsI8z7U I donated some Bitcoin to Ukraine, and they’ve had $55 million in crypto donated. One man working in Ukraine to disperse donations said it took 10 minutes to set up for crypto donations, and 10 days to set up the processes to accept fiat (dollars, Euro, etc).

Have a super week!

April 19, 2022~ Easter, Hike, Date 732

Shane and Alicia, thanks for your family update. Happy birthday to Josh last week. And thanks Mom and Dad for your update. Sorry Dad was sick on Easter.

We had a great Easter weekend. We had a nice church service with songs and talks about Christ and His resurrection. Kim and I went on a hike in the early afternoon. Then at 5:00 we had dinner with Seth, Courtney, and Integrity. We did an easter egg hunt with Integrity in the backyard and we colored eggs with her also.

Cayson was at his Mom’s house for her Easter party.

Thursday I worked at Mom and Dad’s house and then after I met Kim at Seth and Aspen’s house for dinner. She made a beet soup and biscuits and it was awesome! Aaron was there for a while and then went to some activity. Saturday evening we went out to eat with Mom and Dad. We were going to go to Red Lobster, but there was an hour wait. So then we went to the Blue Lemon but it was closed down (for good). So then we went to the Mexican restaurant up by Whitmore Library.

Last night Kim and I went to see The Lost City, with Sandra Bullock. We recommend it highly - very funny. That was our date number 732.

Enjoy a superb and fun week!

April 26, 2022~ San Rafael Swell, Disco night, Rumble Slide

Hi all - Happy birthday to Layla, and to Wendy this week and Camden tomorrow. This may be short - I’ve got so much to do before we head out on our vacation to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. It looks like we will have great weather there. We will stay in Montrose, Colorado.

We had Integrity on Saturday and that was fun as always. Courtney took Seth to the airport Saturday morning. He is in New York for a few days with the law school for an educational / work experience trip. But he does get to see the play Wicked there also.

Integrity went with us on some errands, and we built a “rumble slide” in the backyard with my rock sled. We invited Courtney to dinner Saturday evening, and then on Sunday we had Seth and Aspen, and also Courtney and Integrity again. Camden was here for the weekend also.

Camden had a birthday party with friends at Classic Skating, and included his brothers Aaron and Cayson. That was Saturday night. Disco night. Camden also went on a backpacking trip earlier in the week (for his backpacking class) to San Rafael Swell.

I worked at Mom and Dad’s house Friday, and again yesterday (Monday) to get their house and yard looking good for Wendy and Janika coming up later in the week. Cayson went with me yesterday as he was off of school.

Make it a top-notch week!
Christopher and Kim
