Blackham Update (February 2007)

February 27, 2007 (Blackham Update)

Well - January slipped by without me getting an update out, I know you are all devastated at having missed one and are anxiously awaiting our next epistle.

First and foremost, Callahan’s baptism will be this coming Saturday, March 3 at 3:00. Our church is right by the house, 8035 South 3905 West. Callahan is the only being baptized from our ward, and they are doing each ward individually, so ..... we need some help.

As far as the program goes ...

Chorister: Alicia Westra
Pianist: Jen Blackham (unless ... do we have any other players?)
Opening Prayer: Olivia Blackham
Talk on Baptism: Pam Blackham
Musical Number: ??
Talk on Confirmation: Marge Westra
Witnesses: Lamar Westra and Clayton Blackham
Closing Prayer: Clayton Blackham

For those of you who find your names on the program .... can you email or call and let me know if that is ok or not?  We’ll have a little get-together at the house afterward.

.... other happenings with the Blackham bunch include ...

  • Grayson went on a business trip to Florida for a builder’s convention. A highlight of the trip was the “Lego” store by Universal Studios. He says our boys would probably go into shock entering such a store.
  • Gray and I have kept busy “dating”. We saw “See How They Run” at Hale theater, and “Butch Cassidy and the Sunburnt Kid” at Desert Star Playhouse. We went and saw the movie “Open Season” with all five boys, and on Valentine’s Day we went to a cute show “Music and Lyrics” which we both really enjoyed.
  • Landon has entered the techno age. His email address is landonb@email.com if you want to drop him a line. He also has a prepaid cell phone ... we’ll see how that goes. It might be nice for me to be able to reach him when I’m not sure where he’s disappeared to.
  • Callahan (and Landon) just finished up the basketball season, which kept us busy on Saturdays for the past couple of months. Callahan celebrated his 8th birthday with the family going to Red Robin on the big day, and then having 13 friends to the local bowling alley for a bowling birthday bash that was a lot of fun. His gifts were right up his alley; art supplies, sports stuff, legos, star wars and hot wheels.
  • Keaton’s passion continues to be video games. He is a big helper with baby Colton and can really make him giggle.
  • Cooper ... what can we say about the Coop. He continues to be a handful! He wants all his older brothers to share everything with him (well, not “share” but just give him anything/everything) but won’t let Colton touch a thing of his (if Colton enters his room Cooper grabs him screaming to me “Mommy, get IT out”). He can be cute though. He loves cars, ninja turtles, star wars, legos ... switching the heads and bodies on his legos is a favorite pass time. He joined me downstairs while I was doing my weight workout. I would count my reps out loud; me “one” him “eight”, me “two” him “eight” ... he can throw me off!
  • Colton is growing up fast. He still hasn’t been sleeping through the night, but lately I’ve been trying letting him cry it out and we hope he’ll be making it all night soon. He has mastered the stairs, and we rarely have the gate up at all anymore. He’s had a couple really good bonks on his head ... it’s that time of life for little ones.

Well – we hope to see you all at the baptism if you can make it.

Jen and da boys
