Westra Family and Friends (April 9, 2017)

Camden and Cayson went down to Goblin Valley this week.  They were on Spring Break.  Casandra picked them up here Monday afternoon.  They had a great time, and Camden got into rock balancing.  He and I had looked at some rock balancing websites together, and he looks very skilled at it..!  See the pic below.  He said he made one that was even bigger.  Conner came to work here yesterday and today.  Then Krystal came after work (as she usually does Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday).  Kadan also stopped by on his way back from Logan.  He was up there for his last training for the bus driving.

Kim and I had planned a date night last night to watch an episode of Scorpion, while dinner was cooking, and then have a nice dinner of trout and squash and asparagus.  So we ended up putting a few potatoes in and having Conner, Kadan, and Krystal join us also.  I was able to work with Conner some during the day, which was nice.

I got my two assistants hooked up with Venmo so that I can pay them that way.  It will be a lot easier than with a check.  This week I also learned how to respond to reviews on my apps, and did respond to a couple of them.  I did get banner ads on a couple of apps, but that doesn’t generate much revenue.  I’ll try interstitial ads and also in app purchases.  The firebase analytics, on the other hand, are really insightful - giving me a picture into who is using my apps, for how long, and on what devices.

Earlier in the week I went on an awesome mountain run, leaving from Dry Canyon, through the cliffs, and then south up and along the side of the mountain until I could see down into Provo Canyon.  Then up and down and across a bit (roughly east) until I started going up again around Little Baldy.  Almost 20,000 steps by the time I got back (207 floors).  I didn’t take my poles because most of it wasn’t super steep.  My knees were sore for several days.  I could still do yard work, but not a bunch at once.

Then this morning we woke up to a couple inches of snow.  It will melt fast, but I wanted to go mountain running again tomorrow.  I may have to wait a couple days until the trails dry out.  Each day I’ve been learning something about bees and what I need to do.  I go pick up the bees April 29 and everything has to be ready by then.

This evening we will pick up Camden and Cayson and then go to Grandma and Grandpa’s house for visiting and desserts.  Shane and Adria are here from California.

Have a great week.

Christopher and Kim

P.S.  The word of the week is spurious:  not being what it purports to be; false or fake.

Here are a few pics of the missionaries, and Camden's rock cairn.
