Westra update Mon. Jan. 16, 2017
Dear Kids
Here’s Dad (grandpa) with another letter.
Here’s a recap of the past week or so.
10 January 2017 – Tuesday. I went to the 3:30 JV game at Cottonwood High. Keaton played about half the game. For Cottonwood, Ben Ostler from our ward was playing. Copper Hills won handily, 73-40. Keaton scored at least two points and got several nice assists. Back home, I changed clothes and we drove to the Asian Star, 7:00, for Scottie and Kellen and group. We had 12 people there, with four kids from Scottie, plus partners for Kellen and Kemery, and Blair and Linda, and Scott and Amy, and us. We had a great meal, and took home three boxes of leftovers. We saw Doug Rees and his wife there, from our ward. They were in a group of 6-8 people, including Elder Renlund and his wife. We returned to Scott’s house, and then went to the 9:00 setting apart, with President Killpack. He had us all speak, and it took until 10:00 to get through all that, and the setting apart. President Killpack gave a great blessing. We returned home, 10:30.
11 January 2017 – Wednesday. Mission. Rainy day. We made a stop at Sprouts.
12 January 2017 – Thursday. Margie, eye doctor. It was snowing a bit, and then raining. Then we made an errand run: Smiths, library, gas up the Lexus, mail. We got back home about 4:00.
13 January 2017 – Friday. Friday the Thirteenth. Scottie came out after work install 8 more ceiling lights. Scottie set fridge filter, and hung a picture, and finished up about 7:00. Thank you so much Scottie.
15 January 2017 – Sunday. We got lots of things readied for our trip down to PG and went to our 11-2 church meetings. Back home, Margie hosted her vt, and I went to the 2:30 choir practice at the Nelson’s home. Back home, I changed clothes and packed the car and we headed out for dinner at Chris and Kim's. There was a sparse crowd, with just Camden and Cayson, and Krystal. I had chicken and rice and potatoes and veggies for dinner, very good. Thanks Kim. Chris gave a FHE about Derek helping others in high school, and we played a new game, Code Name, and Margie gave Chris a haircut and mended 2 pair of his pants. We headed back about 7:30.
16 January 2017 – Monday – Martin Luther King Holiday. Margie got picked up by Marilyn for vt, to Joy Powell.
Later tonight, we have a 6:15 dinner with Chris and Kim at McGraths.
We’ve been working a lot on our Dropbox, size, 59 GB, backing it up to our external hard drive, size used 159 GB, available 1.20 TB. There were over 42,000 records. Our backup copy has been stopping on long names. I renamed a lot of names, and ran the backup again the next night. After 3-4 iterations, the backup went all the way through.
Coming events:
Wednesday, we are going downtown again for another shift at the CHL for our usual Pioneer Trail work. Thursday, I have been asked to be a science fair judge at Oakwood Elementary, 4th grade. Michelle Cannon from our ward called me up last week and asked me. Saturday Seth is going through the Provo City Center Temple. Our house cleaners are coming Thurs. at 1 instead of tomorrow.
We love you all.
Love, Dad, Grandpa
