Kim had Surgery on her right ear on Monday. We actually got to the hospital early, as the traffic was pretty light. They allowed me to stay with her as we got all checked in and prepped. The paragraph below describes a little about what her situation was. It was growing into the ear drum.
A cholesteatoma is an abnormal, noncancerous skin growth that can develop in the middle section of your ear, behind the eardrum. It may be a birth defect, but it's most commonly caused by repeated middle ear infections.
So this was her good ear, as far as hearing goes. For nine years now, I am always used to being on Kim’s right side, but this switches that up. The doctor said that it was a little more extensive surgery than he had initially indicated, he had to take quite a bit of skin from behind her ear to patch up the eardrum and reconstruct it.
I went and rested at grandma and grandpa‘s house during the surgery. The surgery was delayed for several hours due to some emergency that came in. So it ended up taking all day, and we got home right about dinner time.
In the hospital I started reading the book Freckles to her, and have continued through this week. I read about two or three chapters a day. I have to be right close to her. Freckles is one of my favorite books in the entire world, and it has been enjoyable to read to her.
Corin and I went and worked at grandma and grandpa’s house Thursday. It was quite cold, so we were inside all day. We did lots of general cleaning and carpet cleaning. Kim, being home all week, missed me more on Thursday than usual. At work she is so busy she doesn’t miss me, ha ha. She is taking this week off of work also.
Tuesday afternoon we got another call from Cayson’s school saying he was on quarantine again. The soonest he could test was Thursday so we went at seven in the morning, waiting in a long line this time. We did not get the results until Sunday evening, and it was negative. So he is able to go back to school today. He went to his Mom’s house on the weekend.
We were initially planning on having a Thanksgiving dinner with grandma and grandpa Thursday evening, and then one on Sunday with Boris and Crystal and versus mom and dad. But we canceled those due to Covid and Kim generally not feeling too well yet. We did go on a shopping trip Saturday, I went with her and we picked up a lot.
President Nelson will be giving to talk on hope to the world on November 20, the link below tells a little more about it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6TUaXoT3oE
Here is a Prosperity Poem number 98, Power.
Kim and I and Cayson have watched a few episodes of Tiny House Nation - to get some ideas on how to use space effectively. Camden got an iphone 12 mini. Aaron stopped by Sunday and Krystal stopped by through the week and did some shopping for us.
Have a super week.

Gray's good ear is his right one too. Hope the surgery is successful and Kim can recover quickly.
Grayson got the new iphone 12 mini too. He always wants the latest and greatest. We'll likely do a little phone-opoly giving his old phone to Keaton, and then Keaton's old phone to Colton. I actually got a new phone myself last month. My phone wasn't holding a charge at all, I'd have to carry a portable battery pack with me everywhere I went, and it was doing a few other odd things as well. I got the SE (had the 7 I think) and size and function isn't really any different.
Keaton hadn't committed to the electrician job the way Cal did going in (Cal is planning on that for a career, Keaton was just doing it for a job). Keaton mentioned he was thinking of leaving, he'd like to learn many of the trades and was looking at finish carpentry, as it's more inside when the homes are closer to being done (thus being warmer in the cold season). His bosses countered with a raise, and an offer to be the "finish" man (which is working the end of the electrical work, when the house is more finished), and/or making him a team leader. Keaton has accepted that, so we have an electrician's van in the driveway. Again. Same as Callahan. It was a bit of a relief to have it gone (and Cal's charger) when he married and moved out. But once Gray is done with Pammy's house stuff (it's closing today) he should be able to get the trailer back on the side of the house which will open up the driveway a bit (until Gray gets a new flatbed trailer to replace the one that was stolen, I saw him looking online).
Just two more days of quarantine for Colton. I've gotten used to sleeping in and not having to run all around. My Zumba got nixed with the most recent announcement from the area presidency about church gathering/usage. So today, instead of 10 little outings, I'll just have to get Coop to/from work. Even when Colton is back on Wednesday, I'll just have his to/from school, but not his to/from the high school (the high school moved to online again) or any basketball stuff in the evening. I don't think Colton qualified for the testing/early return ... as his wasn't mask on mask exposure, which is one of the qualifiers for that. So we haven't bothered to get him tested. He does fine keeping up with work, although his math teacher said to just wait and bring his assignments in when he's back rather than doing the "take a picture and upload" it route (so it does look like he's missing a few at the moment, that he has done).
Gray's birthday this week. I'm not sure if we'll really do anything or have the Tepanyaki trip count for both of ours.
Thanksgiving is planned with Clay and Courtney's family. They all had Covid recently and recovered ... although it seems they say that those recovered should still obey the mandate (with masks and gatherings) although if they are in the "safe" stage (antibodies for a few months) it seems that is more for appearance, hard to make exceptions.
