Westra Family and Friends (May 18, 2020)

Cayson came Monday evening and has been here all week. Camden came Wednesday evening and got Thursday and Friday off work. I took Camden and Cayson on Thursday to Grandma and Grandpa Westra’s house to work. John, the sprinkler guy, was there, and Cayson and Camden mostly did sprinkler trenches all day. I did some digging too, and also a bunch of other yard jobs they had on the agenda.

In the evening Kim came and joined us for dinner. She drove straight from work. John joined us also as he was still there. We ate in the backyard - see pic below. Cayson and I will go help more tomorrow - they are overhauling the entire sprinkler system.

We watched integrity on Saturday.
Here’s a conversation between me and Integrity on the back patio.

Integrity says excitedly, “There’s a bug, mash it!”
Me: “Oh no, it’s just an ant. I like ants - I don’t want to hurt it.”
Integrity: “my momma - she mashes bugs”

Integrity helped me water plants and do rock work. Kim went golfing with Aaron on Saturday and enjoyed it. They did “driving”, which I think means they just hit a bunch of balls a long way (as opposed to playing the course). In the afternoon Camden and I went and got some big rocks that took two people to load.

Aaron had a date Thursday evening with Rachel, a girl he met on “Mutual” - the app. He said it was one of his best dates. He worked all week and comes home dirty and tired.

Jeni had been creating blog posts about family history - here is one about our Great Grandma and Grandpa in quarantine during the Spanish flu - helped out by the oddfellows.

I added a new page on Grandma’s website - lots of Family Search Activities and Tools - check it out below.

Here is Prosperity Poem 77 - Daily Growth

The weather has been beautiful..! Our garden is doing well. Conner stopped by last night to fix something on one of our toilets - we are grateful for him. We sent him home with some eggs and some homemade chicken soup. We enjoyed our Sunday home service - I did the lesson on Becoming more like Christ. Camden was going to do it but his car broke down Saturday evening so he never made it back. I guess he will be driving the motorcycles for a while.

I took Cayson to the American Fork River on Sunday afternoon.
He tried to catch some trout but did catch a snake.

Have a great week!
Christopher and Kim
